When I was 15 I got my first Leica, a IIIa with Elmar 5 cm lens, case, Weston V light meter and hood, I also started doing my own b&w processing in the school darkroom. Later, I was given access to my father’s lenses. This camera was my learning tool for 20 years, although I also used an R3 on occasion. From 1992 I used an M2 almost exclusively, sometimes with a Visoflex, and from there my collection increased, I now use R, M and Leicaflex. My photographs are taken mostly in Portugal, with its wonderful light and colours. I am prone to experimenting, always looking for a better film/developer combination, or that elusive colour film that will fill the gap left by Kodachrome.
