2025 Exhibition Awards

The 2025 exhibition was the first time TLS had opted for a digital only solution.  Gratifyingly, we had a really good entry, 48 members, and the standard was excellent. As such we were keen to stage an awards presentation to acknowledge the quality of our winners and highly commended.

Ivor Cooper, of Red Dot cameras, offered the use of the Red Dot shop in Clerkenwell, which was perfect for our needs.  Ivor provided the space gratis too, he is an amazing friend to TLS, thank you indeed Ivor.

The majority of our winners and highly commended were able to attend:  Alan Burles, Ivor Cooper, Richard Bircham, Guy Keen, Tony Goodger, David Rutter and Gyles Glover; our Podmore Award recipient.

Liz, who works for Red Dot, looked after us beautifully and was kind enough to take the group shot too.  Liz’s Leica is a feature of TLS’ online magazine, The perspective of a twenty something woman, with a passion for Leica’s and image making, is such a welcome addition to our quarterly.

The award sharing was very rapid and Ivor suggested each recipient should tell us the back story of how the images were created, Ivor put them all up on his large screen.  It was a thoroughly rewarding session, I learned a good deal and hearing the modest expertise of so many talented photographers was fascinating.  I believe we should keep this as a feature for any future awards events.

My thanks to all our winners who attended, and again to Liz and Ivor for looking after us with such warmth and generosity.
