November’s creak

Welcome to November’s creak. I am delighted to report that the harvest for TLS’s inaugural online exhibition has been most encouraging. 42 of our membership have participated: Last year we had 8 fewer, so many thanks to all whom have supported.

The standard has also been excellent too. And that is equally encouraging. Our judges this year are Robin Sinah, of Leica Academy. And a new enthusiast. David Game. A celebrated educationalist and art collector. Who has set up numerous academic colleges around the world. Including the London Film Academy. David is an avid collector of art, including photography. He is highly enthused about being a judge for TLS this year.

Winners will be announced in our first online magazine in January 2026. Examples of the amazing work we have received will be shared too. On that subject, my sincere thanks to Phil Coomes, our new magazine editor. Phil has been making heroic progress on assembling a magazine that I am sure will be well-received. We will never be totally happy that we were reluctantly forced to move away from print. However, this will be the best practical alternative.

So it would not be a creak from me….without one of my nonsense rambles…thank you for indulging me.

Last month I extolled the virtues of the 24mm Summilux. I mentioned that I prefer it to the 21mm ‘lux. And then I took the 21mm ‘lux out and about for a few weeks in October. The harvest was a reminder that the 21mm is truly special too, click an image to view full size.

And promoted a first-world dilemma of significant silliness….which one would I choose?
