Is a rumoured M with EVF a step closer

The internet is currently rife with rumours of a Leica M with EVF to be released in this Leica’s 100th year. Leica Rumours site is stating that the much rumoured Leica M with an electronic viewfinder is a step closer. They think the model will be called the M11V and not an M12. They also have some leaked images of the camera and viewfinder display.

If the rumours are correct, the new Leica M11-V will be an M with a built in EVF and have a clean top plate and no ISO dial. This might be due to the extra space required to fit an electronic view finder (EVF) unit – see leaked picture above.

Is this the way the Leica M series should travel, or should it remain a totally manual rangefinder experience? The forums will be filled with both camps thoughts, personally I think there is room for both to coexist, without one robbing sales from the other.
